SPIKED JALAPENO LEMONADE

MEZZETTA ORIGINAL

Simple Syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup Mezzetta® Sliced Hot Jalapeño Peppers, drained

Lemonade:
1 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice, about 5 lemons
2 cups water
2 cups ice
Optional – Add vodka

In a small saucepan over medium-high heat combine 1 cup water with the sugar. Bring to a boil. Add the Mezzetta® Sliced Hot Jalapeño Peppers, lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

In a pitcher, mix the lemon juice with the remaining water. Add 3/4 cup of the simple syrup and stir well.

Serve over ice with a Mezzetta® Sliced Hot Jalapeño Pepper garnish. If using vodka, pour 1½ oz into each glass and top with lemonade.
