Mint and Cherry Bourbon Cocktail

1/4 cup of Mezzetta® Maraschino Cherries (don’t throw out the cherry juice in the jar)
1 oz mint-infused simple syrup (recipe below)
fresh mint leaves
2 oz good bourbon
1/2 oz lime juice
club soda to taste
whole mint leaves to garnish
ice cubes

Mint-Infused Simple Syrup (makes about 1 cup):
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, removed from stems

For the Mint Infused Simple Syrup, boil the sugar, water and mint leaves down until it reaches the desired consistency and it thickens. Once it cools, add the simple syrup to the bottom of the glass.

Crush Mezzetta® Maraschino Cherries in the syrup and add a little of the cherry juice from the jar for added color and sweetness.

Add 2 oz of good bourbon and just a squeeze of lime juice. Add club soda and give it a simple stir to complete the drink. You can garnish it with more Mezzetta® Maraschino Cherries and/or fresh mint leaves. Enjoy!

One of the things I love about Mezzetta is their cherries! They taste so fresh and the flavor and texture is so good they almost taste like they were canned at home from fresh cherries. They're nothing like your traditional store-bought cocktail cherries! That is one of the things you can look forward to with Mezzetta products - they taste like the genuine article. I really enjoy using them for my homemade cocktail recipe.

Spiked Jalapeño Lemonade

SPIKED JALAPENO LEMONADE

Simple Syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup Mezzetta® Sliced Hot Jalapeño Peppers, drained

Lemonade:
1 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice, about 5 lemons
2 cups water
2 cups ice
Optional – Add vodka

In a small saucepan over medium-high heat combine 1 cup water with the sugar. Bring to a boil. Add the Mezzetta® Sliced Hot Jalapeño Peppers, lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

In a pitcher, mix the lemon juice with the remaining water. Add 3/4 cup of the simple syrup and stir well.

Serve over ice with a Mezzetta® Sliced Hot Jalapeño Pepper garnish. If using vodka, pour 1½ oz into each glass and top with lemonade.

2 oz Mezzetta® Golden Greek Peperoncini brine
splash of dry vermouth
Mezzetta® Golden Greek Peperoncini, for garnish

Pour liquor and Mezzetta® Golden Greek Peperoncini brine into a martini shaker with ice. Shake at least 30 seconds and pour into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a Mezzetta® Golden Greek Peperoncini or two and enjoy!

Jalapeño Lime Margarita

JALAPEÑO LIME MARGARITA

1 (12 oz) can frozen limeade concentrate
1 cup tequila
1/4 cup triple sec
1 lime, cut into wedges
4 to 6 cups ice, depending how slushy you like it
salt for rim
1 (16 oz) jar Mezzetta® Sliced Tamed or Sliced Hot Jalapeño Peppers, plus brine

Combine all ingredients, except for the jalapeño peppers, into a blender. Blend until smooth. Add a splash of Mezzetta® Sliced Tamed or Hot Jalapeño Pepper brine to taste and blend again. Pour into a rimmed glass with salt and garnish with a lime wedge and a Mezzetta® Sliced Tamed or Hot Jalapeño Pepper.

Fill a chilled martini shaker with ice. Add gin and vermouth. Shake well, about 45 seconds.

Using a cocktail strainer, pour into a chilled glass. Thread 3 Mezzetta® Imported Spanish Queen Martini Olives (representing health, love and wealth) onto a cocktail stirrer and serve.
